एवंविधानि कर्माणि प्रावर्तत महाबलः । सर्वेषां ब्रह्मदण्डानामवध्यः शम्भुना कृतः ॥ 7-36-31 ॥
Deeds of this kind that one of great strength carried on, having been made invulnerable to all the rods of Brahma by Shambhu (Shiva).
english translation
जानन्त ऋषयस्तं वै सहन्ते तस्य शक्तितः ॥ 7-36-32 ॥
The sages, knowing him to be such, endured him out of regard for his power.
english translation
यथा केसरिणा त्वेष वायुना सो ऽञ्जनासुतः । प्रतिषिद्धो ऽपि मर्यादां लङ्घयत्येव वानरः ॥ 7-36-33 ॥
Even though forbidden by Kesari and by Vayu, the Wind, that son of Anjana, the vanara, would still overstep the bounds.
english translation
ततो महर्षयः क्रुद्धा भृग्वङ्गिरसवंशजाः । शेपुरेनं रघुश्रेष्ठ नातिक्रुद्धातिमन्यवः ॥ 7-36-34 ॥
Then the great sages, born in the lineage of Bhrigu and Angiras, grew angry, O best of the Raghus, and cursed him, though not over-wrathful nor over-incensed.
english translation
बाधसे यत्समाश्रित्य बलमस्मान्प्लवङ्गम । तद्दीर्घकालं वेत्तासि नास्माकं शापमोहितः । यदा ते स्मार्यते कीर्तिस्तदा ते वर्धते बलम् ॥ 7-36-35 ॥
O leaping one, relying upon that strength you torment us; for a long time you shall not know it, deluded by our curse; but when your glory is recalled to you, then shall your strength grow.
