रुरोध दुःखं जनयन्नन्तःपुर इव स्त्रियः । तस्मात्त्वां शरणं प्राप्ता वायुनोहता वयम् ॥ 7-35-56 ॥

'shut us in and given rise to suffering, like women confined within the inner apartments? Therefore we have come to you for refuge, we who are struck down by the Wind.'

english translation

एतत्प्रजानां श्रुत्वा तु प्रजानाथः प्रजापतिः । कारणादिति चोक्त्वासौ प्रजाः पुनरभाषत ॥ 7-35-57 ॥

Having heard this from the creatures, the lord of beings, Prajapati, said, 'There is a reason for this,' and then spoke again to the creatures.

english translation

यस्मिंश्च कारणे वायुश्चुक्रोध च रुरोध च । प्रजाः शृणुध्वं तत्सर्वं श्रोतव्यं चात्मनः क्षमम् ॥ 7-35-58 ॥

'The reason for which the Wind grew angry and held you back—hear it all, O creatures, for it is fitting that you yourselves should hear it.'

english translation

पुत्रस्तस्यामरेशेन इन्द्रेणाद्य निपातितः । राहोर्वचनमास्थाय ततः स कुपितो ऽनिलः ॥ 7-35-59 ॥

'His son has today been struck down by Indra, the lord of the immortals, who acted upon the word of Rahu; and thereupon the Wind became enraged.'

english translation

अशरीरः शरीरेषु वायुश्चरति पालयन् । शरीरं हि विना वायुं समतां याति दारुभिः ॥ 7-35-60 ॥

'Bodiless, the Wind moves within bodies, sustaining them; for without the Wind, a body becomes equal to a piece of wood.'
