नाप्येवं वेगवान्वायुर्गरुडो वा मनस्तथा । यथा ऽयं वायुपुत्रस्तु क्रमते ऽम्बरमुत्तमम् ॥ 7-35-26 ॥
Not even the wind is so swift, nor Garuda, nor the mind, as this son of the Wind is, as he traverses the lofty sky.
english translation
यदि तावच्छिशोरस्य त्वीदृशो गतिविक्रमः । यौवनं बलमासाद्य कथं वेगो भविष्यति ॥ 7-35-27 ॥
If even as an infant his speed and prowess in flight are such as this, then what will his velocity become once he attains the strength of youth?
english translation
तमनुप्लवते वायुः प्लवन्तं पुत्रमात्मनः । सूर्यदाहभयाद्रक्षंस्तुषारचयशीतलः ॥ 7-35-28 ॥
And the Wind, cool as a heap of snow, flew along behind his own son as the boy soared upward, fearing that he might be scorched by the burning heat of the sun.
english translation
बहुयोजनसाहस्रं क्रमत्येष गतोम्बरम् । पितुर्बलाच्च बाल्याच्च भास्कराभ्याशमागतः ॥ 7-35-29 ॥
Crossing many thousands of yojanas, this child traversed the sky, and by his father's strength and in his childishness he drew near to the sun.
english translation
शिशुरेष त्वदोषज्ञ इति मत्वा दिवाकरः । कार्यं चात्र समायत्तमित्येवं न ददाह सः ॥ 7-35-30 ॥
Thinking, "This is but a child who knows no wrong," and that some purpose was bound up in this matter, the maker of day did not burn him.
