मृत्युं चतुर्भिर्विशिखैः सूतं सप्तभिरार्दयत् । यमं शतसहस्रेण शीघ्रं मर्मस्वताडयत् ॥ 7-22-21 ॥
He struck Death with four sharp shafts and his charioteer with seven, and swiftly he smote Yama in his vital points with a hundred thousand arrows.
english translation
ततः क्रुद्धस्य वदनाद्यमस्य समजायत । ज्वालामाली सनिःश्वासः सधूमः कोपपावकः ॥ 7-22-22 ॥
Then from the face of the enraged Yama there sprang up the fire of his wrath, wreathed in garlands of flame, accompanied by hissing breath and smoke.
english translation
तदाश्चर्यमथो दृष्ट्वा देवदानवसन्निधौ । प्रहर्षितौ सुसंरब्धौ मृत्युकालौ बभूवतुः ॥ 7-22-23 ॥
Beholding that marvel in the presence of the gods and the danavas, both Mrityu and Kala became delighted and greatly excited.
english translation
ततो मृत्युः क्रुद्धतरो वैवस्वतमभाषत । मुञ्च मां समरे यावद्धन्मीमं पापराक्षसम् । नैषा रक्षो भवेदद्य मर्यादा हि निसर्गतः ॥ 7-22-24 ॥
Then Death, growing yet more wrathful, said to the son of Vivasvat: 'Release me into battle, that I may slay this sinful rakshasa; for this rakshasa shall not survive today, since such is the bound fixed by nature.'
english translation
हिरण्यकशिपुः श्रीमान्नमुचिः शम्बरस्तथा । विसन्धिर्धूमकेतुश्च बलिर्वैरोचनो ऽपि च ॥ 7-22-25 ॥
The glorious Hiranyakashipu, Namuchi, and likewise Shambara, Visandhi and Dhumaketu, and Bali the son of Virochana too;'
