एवं नानाप्रहरणैर्यमेनामित्रकर्षिणा । सप्तरात्रं कृतः सङ्ख्ये विसञ्ज्ञो विमुखो रिपुः ॥ 7-22-16 ॥
Thus by Yama, the harasser of foes, with his various weapons, the enemy was rendered senseless and turned away in the battle for seven nights.
english translation
तदासीत्तुमुलं युद्धं यमराक्षसयोर्द्वयोः । जयमाकाङ्क्षतोर्वीर समरेष्वनिवर्तिनोः ॥ 7-22-17 ॥
At that time there was a tumultuous battle between those two, Yama and the Rakshasa, O hero, both desiring victory and never retreating in their encounters.
english translation
ततो देवाः सगन्धर्वाः सिद्धाश्च परमर्षयः । प्रजापतिं पुरस्कृत्य समेतास्तद्रणाजिरम् ॥ 7-22-18 ॥
Then the gods, together with the gandharvas, the siddhas, and the supreme sages, placing the Lord of Creatures at their head, assembled at that battlefield.

संवर्त इव लोकानां क्रुध्यतोरभवत्तदा । राक्षसानां च मुख्यस्य प्रेतानामीश्वरस्य च ॥ 7-22-19 ॥
At that time, as the two grew wrathful, there arose, like the dissolution of the worlds, the conflict between the chief of the rakshasas and the lord of the departed.
english translation
राक्षसेन्द्रो ऽपि विस्फार्य चापमिन्द्राशनिप्रभम् । निरन्तरमिवाकाशं कुर्वन्बाणांस्ततो ऽसृजत् ॥ 7-22-20 ॥
The king of the rakshasas too, drawing his bow that shone like Indra's thunderbolt, then loosed his arrows, making the sky as though without any gap.
