क्षोत्रायासकरा वाचो वदतश्च भयावहाः । सन्तार्यमाणान्वैतरणीं बहुशः शोणितोदकाम् ॥ 7-21-14 ॥
He heard voices that pained the ear and were terrifying as they spoke; and he saw beings being made to cross the Vaitarani river, whose waters again and again ran with blood.
