चालनात्पर्वतस्यैव गणा देवस्य कम्पिताः । चचाल पार्वती चापि तदा ऽ ऽश्लिष्टा महेश्वरम् ॥ 7-16-26 ॥

From the very shaking of the mountain the attendant hosts of the god were thrown into agitation, and Parvati too trembled, whereupon she clung to Maheshvara.

english translation

ततो राम महादवो देवानां प्रवरो हरः । पादाङ्गुष्ठेन तं शैलं पीडयामास लीलया ॥ 7-16-27 ॥

Then, O Rama, the great god Hara, the foremost of the gods, pressed down that mountain with the toe of his foot, as if in sport.

english translation

पीडितास्तु ततस्तस्य शैलस्याधोगता भुजाः । विस्मिताश्चाभवंस्तत्र सचिवास्तस्य रक्षसः ॥ 7-16-28 ॥

Crushed thereby, the arms of that rakshasa were forced down beneath the mountain, and his ministers standing there were filled with astonishment.

english translation

रक्षसा तेन रोषाच्च भुजानां पीडनात्तदा । मुक्तो विरावः सहसा त्रैलोक्यं येन कम्पितम् ॥ 7-16-29 ॥

Then, from the crushing of his arms and out of rage, that rakshasa suddenly let loose a roar by which the three worlds were made to tremble.

english translation

मेनिरे वज्रनिष्पेषं तस्यामात्या युगक्षये । तदा वर्त्मस्थचलिता देवा इन्द्रपुरोगमाः ॥ 7-16-30 ॥

His ministers took it for the crashing of the thunderbolt at the dissolution of the age; and then the gods, led by Indra, who had been moving along their paths, were thrown into confusion.
