स जित्वा धनदं राम भ्रातरं राक्षसाधिपः । महासेनप्रसूतिं तद्ययौ शरवणं महत् ॥ 7-16-1 ॥

Having conquered his brother Kubera, the giver of wealth, O Rama, that lord of the Rakshasas then went to the great reed-grove, the birthplace of Mahasena.

english translation

अथापश्यदृशग्रीवो रौक्मं शरवणं महत् । गभस्तिजालसंवीतं द्वितीयमिव भास्करम् ॥ 7-16-2 ॥

Then the ten-necked one beheld that great golden reed-grove, wreathed about with a web of rays, like a second sun.

english translation

स पर्वतं समारुह्य कञ्चिद्रम्यवनान्तरम् । अपश्यत् पुष्पकं तत्र रामविष्टम्भितं तदा ॥ 7-16-3 ॥

Ascending a certain mountain with lovely woodland depths, he saw there at that time the Pushpaka brought to a standstill, held fast by Rama.

english translation

विष्टब्धं पुष्पकं दृष्ट्वा ह्यगमं कामागं कृतम् । अचिन्तयद्राक्षसेन्द्रः सचिवैस्तैः समावृतः ॥ 7-16-4 ॥

Seeing the Pushpaka, which goes at will, brought to a halt and made unable to move, the lord of the Rakshasas, surrounded by his counselors, fell to pondering.

english translation

किन्निमित्तं चेच्छया मे नेदं गच्छति पुष्पकम् । पर्वतस्योपरिष्ठस्य कर्मेदं कस्यचिद्भवेत् ॥ 7-16-5 ॥

"For what reason does this Pushpaka not move at my wish? This must be the work of someone on the summit of the mountain."
