The Rakshasa had it made enchanting and full of every comfort, everywhere and always granting delight, like a hallowed grotto of Mount Meru

english translation

There the mighty Kumbhakarna, sunk in sleep, lay slumbering for many thousands of years and would not awaken.

english translation

While Kumbhakarna was thus overcome by sleep, Dashanana, unchecked by any restraint, went on slaying gods, sages, yakshas, and gandharvas.

english translation

And going to the wondrous pleasure-gardens, Nandana and the rest, Dashanana in his fury laid them waste.

english translation

Sporting in the rivers like an elephant, scattering trees as the wind does, and like a hurled thunderbolt against the mountains, the Rakshasa wrought destruction.
