एवमुक्तो गृहीत्वा ऽ ऽशु तद्वचः पितृगौरवात् । सदारपुत्रः सामान्यः सवाहनधनो गतः ॥ 7-11-46 ॥
Addressed thus, out of reverence for his father he at once accepted that counsel, and together with his wives and sons, with his retinue, his vehicles, and his wealth, he departed.
english translation
प्रहस्तो ऽथ दशग्रीवं गत्वा वचनमब्रवीत् । प्रहृष्टात्मा महात्मानं सहामात्यं सहानुजम् ॥ 7-11-47 ॥
Then Prahasta, his heart delighted, went to the great-souled Dashagriva, who was with his ministers and his younger brother, and spoke these words.
english translation
शून्या सा नगरी लङ्का त्यक्त्त्वैनां धनदो गतः । प्रविश्य तां सहास्माभिः स्वधर्मं प्रतिपालय ॥ 7-11-48 ॥
"That city of Lanka is empty; the lord of wealth (Kubera) has abandoned it and gone. Enter it along with us and uphold your own dharma."
english translation
एवमुक्तो दशग्रीवः प्रहस्तेन महाबलः । विवेश नगरीं लङ्कां भ्रातृभिः सबलानुगैः ॥ 7-11-49 ॥
Thus addressed by Prahasta, the mighty Dashagriva entered the city of Lanka with his brothers and the troops that followed him.
english translation
धनदेन परित्यक्तां सुविभक्तमहापथाम् । आरुरोह स देवारिः स्वर्गं देवाधिपो यथा ॥ 7-11-50 ॥
That enemy of the gods ascended into Lanka, forsaken by the lord of wealth and laid out with well-divided great highways, as the king of the gods (Indra) ascends to heaven.
