स तु गत्वा पुरीं लङ्कां धनदेन सुरक्षिताम् । अब्रवीत्परमोदारं वित्तपालमिदं वचः ॥ 7-11-26 ॥
Then he, having gone to the city of Lanka well guarded by the giver of wealth, spoke this most courteous message to the guardian of riches.
english translation
प्रेषितो ऽहं तव भ्रात्रा दशग्रीवेण सुव्रत । त्वत्समीपं महाबाहो सर्वशस्त्रभृतां वर ॥ 7-11-27 ॥
"I have been sent by your brother, the ten-necked one, O you of firm vows, into your presence, O mighty-armed one, O foremost among all bearers of weapons."
english translation
तच्छ्रूयतां महाप्राज्ञ सर्वशास्त्रविशारद । वचनं मम वित्तेश यद्ब्रवीति दशाननः ॥ 7-11-28 ॥
"Let what the ten-necked one says be heard, O greatly wise one, O master of all the sciences, O lord of wealth, this message of mine."
english translation
इयं किल पुरी रम्या सुमालिप्रमुखैः पुरा । भुक्तपूर्वा विशालाक्ष राक्षसैर्भीमविक्रमैः ॥ 7-11-29 ॥
This lovely city, O wide-eyed one, was formerly enjoyed by the rakshasas of terrible valor, led by Sumali."
english translation
तेन विज्ञाप्यते सो ऽयं साम्प्रतं विश्रवात्मज । तदेषा दीयतां तात याचतस्तस्य सामतः ॥ 7-11-30 ॥
"By him you are now informed of this, O son of Vishravas: therefore let this city be given, dear one, since he asks for it with conciliation."
