विष्टिः स्थिरं वा करणं यदि स्यात् कृष्णं जयेत् पौरुषसूक्तमन्त्रैः । पष्ठ्यां गुहार्धनमत्र कार्यं यजेच्चतुर्थ्यां किल नागराजम् ॥ १६॥
If the astrological division of the day is either viṣṭi or a fixed karaṇa, one should worship Kṛṣṇa with the hymns of the Puruṣasūkta. On the sixth lunar day, one must perform the worship of Guha, and on the fourth day, one should indeed sacrifice to the King of the Nagas (Nāgarāja).

viSTiH sthiraM vA karaNaM yadi syAt kRSNaM jayet pauruSasUktamantraiH । paSThyAM guhArdhanamatra kAryaM yajeccaturthyAM kila nAgarAjam ॥ 16॥

The listening to the Rāmāyaṇa should occur on the ninth lunar day; if it is the eighth, one should observe the vow of listening; if it is the fourteenth, there should be the worship of Rudra (Śiva); and if it is the twelfth, the giving of food is prescribed.

rAmAyaNasya zravaNaM navamyaM yadyaSTamI cecchravaNavrataM ca । caturdazI cedyAdi rudrapUjA syAddvAdazI cetsamRtamannadAnam ॥ 17॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतृप्ति पितॄणामिह पञ्चदश्यां कृष्ंए दशम्याः परतोऽतियत्नात् । पक्षत्रिभागेष्वपि नागराजं स्कन्दं च सेवेत हरी क्रमेण ॥ १८॥
On this fifteenth lunar day, one should diligently provide satisfaction to the ancestors. From the tenth day of the dark fortnight onward, during the three divisions of the lunar half, one should successively worship the serpent king, Skanda, and Hari.

It at a birth the lord of the 5 th house be posited in its inimical or depression sign or be eclipsed (by the Sun's rays) or occupy any of the (Dusstthanas, viz, the 6 th, the 8 th or the 12 th); or the planet occupying the 5 th house be similarly situated or happen to be the lord of any one of the three houses, viz, the 6 th, the 8 th or the 12 th one ought to declare childlessness as an inevitable result, He ought to divine the source of the same by an examination of the particular deity, tree and animal represented by the sign occupied by that planet.

If the planet in question happens to be the Sun, the person concerned becomes sonless owing to injury done to Cod Siva and Garuda' and the consequent curse of the M-nes; if the Moon, it will be due to the displeasure and anger of the mother, a sumangali (Sumangali o other venerable woman owing to her feelings having been hurt; in the case of Mars, it will be due to some fault done to the village deity, to God kartikeya (Kartikeya), to an enemy, or one's Dayadins; if the planet be Mercury, the sonlessness will be due io curses made by youngsters or to the killing of spawns (eggs of fishes and similar creatures) or to the wrath of God Vishnu;
