Phaladeepika
रामायणस्य श्रवणं नवम्यं यद्यष्टमी चेच्छ्रवणव्रतं च । चतुर्दशी चेद्यादि रुद्रपूजा स्याद्द्वादशी चेत्समृतमन्नदानम् ॥ १७॥
The listening to the Rāmāyaṇa should occur on the ninth lunar day; if it is the eighth, one should observe the vow of listening; if it is the fourteenth, there should be the worship of Rudra (Śiva); and if it is the twelfth, the giving of food is prescribed.
english translation
rAmAyaNasya zravaNaM navamyaM yadyaSTamI cecchravaNavrataM ca । caturdazI cedyAdi rudrapUjA syAddvAdazI cetsamRtamannadAnam ॥ 17॥
