Natyashastra
रश्मिकुशाङ्कुशधनुषां तोमरशक्तिप्रमोक्षणे चैव । अधरोष्ठपादरञ्जनमलकस्योत्क्षेपणं चैव ॥ ५८॥
It is used to represent reins, a noose, a goad, a bow, the release of a javelin (tomara) or a spear (śakti), as well as applying color to the lower lip and feet, and raising a lock of hair.
