तिर्यक्तथोर्ध्वसंस्थो ह्यधोमुखश्चाञ्चितोऽपविद्धस्तु । मण्डलगतिस्तथा स्वस्तिकश्च पृष्ठानुसारि च ॥ २२१॥

Sideward, upward, downward, stretched, thrown aside, circular movement, crossed (Svastika), and drawn back—these are the arm movements as described.

english translation

उद्वेष्टितः प्रसारित इत्येते वै स्मृताः प्रकारास्तु । बाह्वोरिति करणगता विज्ञेया नित्यं नृत्तप्रयोक्तृभिः ॥ २२२॥

The movements known as Udveṣṭita and Prasārita are considered types of arm movements. These should always be understood by performers of dance as belonging to the category of Karaṇas.

english translation

हस्तानां करणविधिर्मया समासेन निगदितो विप्राः । अत ऊर्ध्वं व्याख्यास्ये हृदयोदरपार्श्वकर्माणि ॥ २२३॥

O Brāhmaṇas, I have briefly explained the method of hand gestures (hastas) and their movements (karaṇas); now I shall explain the actions related to the chest, abdomen, and sides.

आभुग्नमथ निर्भुग्नं तथा चैव प्रकम्पितम् । उद्वाहितं समं चैव उरः पञ्चविधं स्मृतम् ॥ २२४॥

The breast is said to be of five kinds: Ābhugna, Nirbhugna, Prakampita, Udvāhita, and Sama. These are the five types of the breast.

english translation

निम्नमुन्नतपृष्ठं च व्याभुग्नांसं श्लथं क्वचित् आभुग्नं तदुरो ज्ञेयं कर्म चास्य निबोधत ॥ २२५॥

The breast that is low and high at the back, sometimes bent and slack, is known as Ābhugna. This is to be understood as such, and its usage is as follows.
