अल्पाभिधानेनार्थो यः समासेनोच्यते बुधैः । सूत्रतः साऽनुमतव्या कारिकार्थप्रदर्शिनी ॥ ११॥

The meaning that is expressed with a concise term, which is mentioned by the wise, should be accepted as valid, as it shows the purpose of the sutra.

नानानामाश्रयोत्पन्नं निघण्टुनिगमान्वितम् । धात्वर्थहेतुसंयुक्तं नानासिद्धान्तसाधितम् ॥ १२॥

It is born from various sources, accompanied by definitions and conclusions, connected with the meanings of roots, causes, and established through various philosophical views.

स्थापितोऽर्थो भवेद्यत्र समासेनार्थासूचकः । धात्वर्थवचनेनेह निरुक्तं तत्प्रचक्षते ॥ १३॥

श‍ृङ्गारहास्यकरुणा रौद्रवीरभयानकाः । बीभत्साद्भुतसंज्ञौ चेत्यष्टौ नाट्ये रसाः स्मृताः ॥ १५॥

The eight sentiments in drama, known as Rasa, are Shṛṅgāra (Erotic), Hāsya (Comic), Karunā (Pathetic), Raudra (Furious), Vīra (Heroic), Bhayanaka (Terrible), Bībhatsa (Odious), and Adbhuta (Marvelous). These are all recognized in dramatic art.
