न शक्यमस्य नाट्यस्य गन्तुमन्तं कथञ्चन । कस्माद्बहुत्वाज्ज्ञानानां शिल्पानां वाप्यनन्ततः ॥ ६॥

"It is impossible to reach the end of this Drama in any way, owing to the multitude of its knowledge systems or the infinite nature of its arts."

एकस्यापि न वै शक्यस्त्वन्तो ज्ञानार्णवस्य हि । गन्तुं किं पुनरन्येषां ज्ञानानामर्थतत्त्वतः ॥ ७॥

"Indeed, it is not possible to reach the end of even a single ocean of knowledge; how then can one fully comprehend the essence of other branches of knowledge in their entirety?"

किन्त्वल्पसूत्रग्रन्थार्थमनुमानप्रसाधकम् । नाट्यस्यास्य प्रवक्ष्यामि रसभावादिसङ्ग्रहम् ॥ ८॥

"However, I shall present a concise explanation of this Nāṭya, summarizing the essence of sentiments, psychological states, and other elements, in a manner supported by reasoning and clarity."

विस्तरेणोपदिष्टानामर्थानां सूत्रभाष्ययोः । निबन्धो यो समासेन सङ्ग्रहं तं विदुर्बुधाः ॥ ९॥

The learned ones know the collection of meanings of the detailed explanations and aphorisms as a summary in essence.

रसा भावा ह्यभिनयाः धर्मी वृत्तिप्रवृत्तयः । सिद्धिः स्वरास्तथातोद्यं गानं रङ्गश्च सङ्ग्रहः ॥ १०॥

The sentiments, emotions, and acting are righteous activities; the success, the notes, the rising, the singing, and the stage are all part of the collection.
