सर्वमेव विधिं कृत्वा सूचीवेधकृतैरथ । पादैरनाविद्धगतैर्निष्क्रामेयुः समं त्रयः ॥ १३६॥

Having completed all the rituals, the three should exit together, with steps steady and unerring, made by pricking with needles.

एवमेष प्रयोक्तव्यः पूर्वरङ्गो यथाविधि । चतुरश्रो द्विजश्रेष्ठास्त्र्यश्रं चापि निबोधत ॥ १३७॥

Thus, this should be performed, just as the previous stage was, according to the prescribed method. The four-syllabled, the best of Brahmins, and the three-syllable should also be known.

अयमेव प्रयोगः स्यादङ्गान्येतानि चैव हि । तालप्रमाणं संक्षिप्तं केवलं तु विशेषकृत् ॥ १३८॥

शम्या तु द्विकला कार्या तालो ह्येककलस्तथा । पुनश्चैककला शम्या सन्निपातः कलाद्वयम् ॥ १३९॥

The measuring rod should be of two parts, the tāla is of one part, and again the measuring rod is of one part, the meeting is of two parts.

zamyA tu dvikalA kAryA tAlo hyekakalastathA | punazcaikakalA zamyA sannipAtaH kalAdvayam || 139||

अनेन हि प्रमाणेन कलाताललयान्वितः । कर्तव्यः पूर्वरङ्गस्तु त्र्यश्रोऽप्युत्थापनादिकः ॥ १४०॥

For this is the measure, the prelude should be accompanied by the arts, time and rhythm, and should also be triangular, beginning with the raising of the curtain.
