नवं गुर्वाक्षराण्यादौ षड्लघूनि गुरुत्रयम् । शुष्कावकृष्टा तु भवेत्कला ह्यष्टौ प्रमाणतः ॥ १११॥

यथा - दिग्ले दिग्ले दिग्ले दिग्ले जम्बुकपलितकते तेचाम् । कृत्वा शुष्कावकृष्टां तु यथावद्द्विजसत्तमाः ॥ ११२॥

As in: 'Digle digle digle digle, jambukapalitakate tecam.' Having performed the dry drawn-out (Kala) as it should be, O best of Brahmins.

yathA - digle digle digle digle jambukapalitakate tecAm | kRtvA zuSkAvakRSTAM tu yathAvaddvijasattamAH || 112||

ततः श्लोकं पठेदेकं गम्भीरस्वरसंयुतम् । देवस्तोत्रं पुरस्कृत्य यस्य पूजा प्रवर्तते ॥ ११३॥

Then he should recite a verse with a deep voice, placing the praise of the gods at the forefront, for whom the worship is being performed.

tataH zlokaM paThedekaM gambhIrasvarasaMyutam | devastotraM puraskRtya yasya pUjA pravartate || 113||

राज्ञो वा यत्र भक्तिः स्यादथ वा ब्रह्मणस्स्तवम् । गदित्वा जर्जरश्लोकं रङ्गद्वारे च यत्स्मृतम् ॥ ११४॥

Either the devotion of the king or the praise of Brahma should be recited. Then, recite the worn-out verses, as is remembered at the entrance of the stage.

rAjJo vA yatra bhaktiH syAdatha vA brahmaNasstavam | gaditvA jarjarazlokaM raGgadvAre ca yatsmRtam || 114||

पठेदन्यं पुनः श्लोकं जर्जरस्य विनाशनम् । जर्जरं नमयित्वा तु ततश्चारीं प्रयोजयेत् ॥ ११५॥

He should recite another verse for the destruction of the withered (Jajjara). After bowing to the withered one, then the Chari should be applied.

paThedanyaM punaH zlokaM jarjarasya vinAzanam | jarjaraM namayitvA tu tatazcArIM prayojayet || 115||
