Natyashastra
तेषां सम्मुखतालं ध्रुवपातैरेव नियमतात्मानम् । तस्य कलापाक्षरगुरुलघुवर्णस्थितिं वक्ष्ये ॥ ९७॥
For them the two Tālas at the Mukha of it (i.e., the short Āsārita) are regulated by the Dhruvā Pāta. I shall [now] speak of its [full] measure (māna) and [sequence of] long and short syllables.
english translation
teSAM sammukhatAlaM dhruvapAtaireva niyamatAtmAnam । tasya kalApAkSaragurulaghuvarNasthitiM vakSye ॥ 97॥
