Natyashastra
वालं नवकलं वेषां न तेषां साधु सम्मतम् । सन्निपाताङ्गविन्यासं कलानियमतः कृतम् ॥ ९६॥
Those who have the short (lit. young) [Āsārita] as consisting of nine Kalās, are not supported by the good authorities. The placing of the Sannipāta [in it] has been made [by them] according to the rule of the Kalā.
english translation
vAlaM navakalaM veSAM na teSAM sAdhu sammatam । sannipAtAGgavinyAsaM kalAniyamataH kRtam ॥ 96॥
