प्रवृतादिषु कर्तव्या एते भूयः प्रयोक्तृभिः । यथाक्षरोऽथ द्विकलस्तथैव च चतुष्कलः ॥ २६॥
These Tālas are to be employed again by performers in songs like Pravṛtta and others, in the forms of Yathākṣara (as per syllables), Dvikala (of two Kalās), and Catuṣkala (of four Kalās).

pravRtAdiSu kartavyA ete bhUyaH prayoktRbhiH | yathAkSaro'tha dvikalastathaiva ca catuSkalaH || 26||

त्रयो भेदा हि तालस्य ?? द्विगुणाः स्मृताः । चतुरस्रस्त्रिभिर्भेदैस्तालस्तु परिकीर्तितः ॥ २७॥
The three types of Tāla are each said to have a double measure. The Caturasra Tāla is described as having three varieties.
trayo bhedA hi tAlasya ?? dviguNAH smRtAH | caturasrastribhirbhedaistAlastu parikIrtitaH || 27||

चतुष्कलो ह्यष्टकलः कलाः षोदश चैव हि । त्र्यस्रकालस्तु षड्भेदस्त्रिकलः षट्कलस्तथा ॥ २८॥
The Caturasra Tāla has four, eight, and sixteen Kalās. The Tryasra Tāla is of six kinds, with measures of three Kalās, six Kalās, and so on.
catuSkalo hyaSTakalaH kalAH Sodaza caiva hi | tryasrakAlastu SaDbhedastrikalaH SaTkalastathA || 28||

कला द्वादश चैवास्याश्चतुर्विंशतिरेव च । चत्वारिंशत्तथाष्टौ च तथा षण्णवतिः कलाः ॥ २९॥
The Tryasra Tāla also includes measures of twelve, twenty-four, forty-eight, eighty, and ninety-six Kalās.
kalA dvAdaza caivAsyAzcaturviMzatireva ca | catvAriMzattathASTau ca tathA SaNNavatiH kalAH || 29||

तालो नवविधश्चायं समासात्परिकीर्तितः । तत्र चालाप(चात्माथ)निष्क्रामौ विक्षेपोऽथ प्रवेशनम् ॥ ३०॥
This Tāla is said to be of nine kinds in summary. Among them are Āvāpa, Niṣkrāma, Vikṣepa, and Praveśa.
tAlo navavidhazcAyaM samAsAtparikIrtitaH | tatra cAlApa(cAtmAtha)niSkrAmau vikSepo'tha pravezanam || 30||
