कलिकं द्विकलं वापि न वा स्यात्प्रत्युपोहनम् । द्विकलैर्गुर्वक्षरकृतैः पादभानैर्यथाक्रमम् ॥ २२१॥
Neither the single Kalā nor the double Kalā is used for the Pratyupohana. The twofold Kalās, made with heavy syllables, are to be arranged in the Pādabhāgas in proper sequence.
english translation
kalikaM dvikalaM vApi na vA syAtpratyupohanam । dvikalairgurvakSarakRtaiH pAdabhAnairyathAkramam ॥ 221॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचतुर्भिस्तु भवेन्मात्रा त्रिमात्रं वस्तुसञ्ज्ञितम् । त्रिवस्तु द्विकलं ज्ञेयं भवेत्पातो विधीयते ॥ २२२॥
Four ॥ Kalās॥ will make one Mātrā and the Vastu will consist of three Mātrās. ॥ Each of॥ these three Vastus will consist of two Kalās. This is the rule of Pāda in Pāta.
english translation
caturbhistu bhavenmAtrA trimAtraM vastusaJjJitam । trivastu dvikalaM jJeyaM bhavetpAto vidhIyate ॥ 222॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुर्वक्षरेषु ये पाताः शम्यातालदयः स्मृताः । त एव पादभागेषु द्विकलेष्वत्र योजयेत् ॥ २२३॥
The Pātas such as Śamyā and Tāla etc., which have been prescribed in case of heavy syllables, should be used in the Padabhāga of two Kalās.

gurvakSareSu ye pAtAH zamyAtAladayaH smRtAH । ta eva pAdabhAgeSu dvikaleSvatra yojayet ॥ 223॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअष्टमी षोडशी शम्या दशमी च यथाक्रमम् । चतुर्दश्यां कलायां तु तान्वेदाद्वादशीयुतम् ॥ २२४॥
The eighth the tenth and the sixteenth will have Śamyā and in the twelfth and the fourteenth will have Tāla.

aSTamI SoDazI zamyA dazamI ca yathAkramam । caturdazyAM kalAyAM tu tAnvedAdvAdazIyutam ॥ 224॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलघ्वष्टके पातविधिर्यथापूर्वं प्रकीर्तितः । वस्तुत्रयेऽपि द्विकले एवं पातान्प्रयोजयेत् शीर्षकं चैव कर्तव्यं षट्कलं पञ्चपाणिना ॥ २२५॥
The rule of Pāta in case of eight light ॥ syllables॥ has been mentioned before. In three Vastus of two Kalās too, these Pātas should be applied. And the Śīrṣaka of six Kalās should be made with Pañacapāṇiḥ.

laghvaSTake pAtavidhiryathApUrvaM prakIrtitaH । vastutraye'pi dvikale evaM pAtAnprayojayet zIrSakaM caiva kartavyaM SaTkalaM paJcapANinA ॥ 225॥
