अङ्गानि द्वादशाङ्गस्य स्मृतान्योवेणकस्य च । सम्पिष्टकोपपाताभ्यां प्रवेणीभ्यां विवर्जितम् ॥ १९६॥
The limbs of the twelve-limbed Oveṇaka are to be understood as excluding Saṃpiṣṭaka, Upapāta, and the two Praveṇīs.
english translation
aGgAni dvAdazAGgasya smRtAnyoveNakasya ca । sampiSTakopapAtAbhyAM praveNIbhyAM vivarjitam ॥ 196॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउपवर्तनहनं च सप्ताङ्गपरिवर्जितम् । निवर्तनं तु सप्ताङ्गं तुल्यवर्नपदं स्मृतम् ॥ १९७॥
The Upavartana is omitted in the seven-limbed Oveṇaka. The Nivartana in the seven-limbed one is considered to consist of equal Varṇas and Padas.

In the twelve-limbed Oveṇaka, the final limbs are composed of the remaining Padas in the same way. The same rule is observed for the omitted limbs as well.

The descending (Avagāḍha) and the Pravṛtta, as well as the Mahājanika, are to be applied. Likewise, the two-limbed form excludes the Mahājanika.

When Sthiti and Pravṛtta are combined, it is called a one-limbed form. The one-limbed form is also to be made up of the Mahājanika.
