अलोकश्चैव लोकश्च रसातलमथापि च । दैत्यनागालयाश्चैव गृहाणि भवनानि च ॥ ६॥

The realm of light, the world, the subterranean realms, as well as the abodes of demons, serpents, and various houses and mansions are to be considered.
english translation
alokazcaiva lokazca rasAtalamathApi ca | daityanAgAlayAzcaiva gRhANi bhavanAni ca || 6||
hk transliteration
नगरे वा वने वापि वर्षे वा पर्वतेऽपि वा । यत्र वार्ता प्रवर्तेत तत्र कक्ष्यां प्रवर्तयेत् ॥ ७॥

Whether in a city, a forest, a region, or a mountain, wherever the story takes place, the stage division should be set accordingly.
english translation
nagare vA vane vApi varSe vA parvate'pi vA | yatra vArtA pravarteta tatra kakSyAM pravartayet || 7||

बाह्यं वा मध्यमं वापि तथैवाभ्यन्तरं पुनः । दूरं वा सन्निकृष्टं वा देशं तु परिकल्पयेत् ॥ ८॥

Whether external, middle, or internal, again, the distant or nearby region should be arranged accordingly.
english translation
bAhyaM vA madhyamaM vApi tathaivAbhyantaraM punaH | dUraM vA sannikRSTaM vA dezaM tu parikalpayet || 8||

पूर्वप्रविष्टा ये रङ्गं ज्ञेयास्तेऽभ्यन्तरा बुधैः । पश्चात्प्रविष्टा विज्ञेयाः कक्ष्याभागे तु बाह्यतः ॥ ९॥
sanskrit
Those who enter the stage first are to be considered as internal, according to the wise. Those who enter later are to be considered as external in the division of the stage.

pUrvapraviSTA ye raGgaM jJeyAste'bhyantarA budhaiH | pazcAtpraviSTA vijJeyAH kakSyAbhAge tu bAhyataH || 9||

तेषां तु दर्शनेच्छुर्यः प्रविशेद्रङ्गमण्डपम् । दक्षिणाभिमुखः सोऽथ कुर्यादात्मनिवेदनम् ॥ १०॥
