This natural Gait is appropriate for him; any other would be due to affectation. When the Jester is satisfied after gaining something that was hard to obtain, his Gait should become stiff or halted.
कार्या चैव हि नीचानां चेटादीनां परिक्रमात् । अधमा इति ये ख्याता नानाशीलाश्च ते पुनः ॥ १४७॥
The gait of menials such as servants and the like should be performed accordingly. Those who are known as the lowest in rank and of various dispositions (or natures) are also to be represented in this manner.
One side of the body—whether the head, a hand, or a foot—is to be lowered; and the gait of the Śakāra (a type of boastful person) should show a restless body. While walking, a servant should bow slightly, and his glance should be half-considered (i.e. wavering or inattentive).
वस्त्राभरणसंस्पर्शैर्मुहुर्मुहुरवेक्षितैः । गात्रैर्विकारविक्षिप्तैः लम्बवस्त्रस्रजा तथा ॥ १४९॥
By repeatedly touching his garments and ornaments, and frequently looking at them, with limbs thrown into distorted and jerky movements, his flowing garments and garlands should flutter as well.
Persons of inferior birth should walk with a gaze that constantly shifts, as if watching their surroundings, while keeping their limbs withdrawn to avoid contact with others.
