धनुषस्तु प्रयोक्तव्यं करणं तु चतुर्विधम् । संमार्जनं परामर्षमादानं ग्रहणं क्रिया ॥ ९६॥
The bow is to be used with four kinds of actions: cleansing (saṁmārjana), drawing (parāmarśa), taking (ādāna), and grasping (grahaṇa).
english translation
dhanuSastu prayoktavyaM karaNaM tu caturvidham । saMmArjanaM parAmarSamAdAnaM grahaNaM kriyA ॥ 96॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसन्धानं शरविन्यासो विक्षेपो मोक्षणं भवेत् । तैलाभ्यक्तेन गात्रेण यवागूमृदितेन च ॥ ९७॥
Taking aim (sandhāna) is the placement of the arrow, release (vikṣepa) is its discharge, and mokṣaṇa is the final release. One should perform these actions with a body massaged with oil and rubbed with barley gruel.
english translation
sandhAnaM zaravinyAso vikSepo mokSaNaM bhavet । tailAbhyaktena gAtreNa yavAgUmRditena ca ॥ 97॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptव्यायामं कारयेत् श्रीमान् भित्तावाकालिके तथा । योग्यायां मातृका भित्तिस्तस्माद्भित्तिं समाश्रयेत् ॥ ९८॥
A noble person should perform exercises against a wall or in open space. The wall is considered the proper support for exercise, and hence one should resort to it.
english translation
vyAyAmaM kArayet zrImAn bhittAvAkAlike tathA । yogyAyAM mAtRkA bhittistasmAdbhittiM samAzrayet ॥ 98॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभित्तौ प्रसारिताङ्गन्तु व्यायामं कारयेन्नरम् । बलार्थं च निषेवेत नस्यं बस्तिविधिं तथा ॥ ९९॥
One should extend one’s limbs against the wall and perform exercises. For bodily strength, one should make use of nasal medication and follow the rules regarding enemas.

bhittau prasAritAGgantu vyAyAmaM kArayennaram । balArthaM ca niSeveta nasyaM bastividhiM tathA ॥ 99॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्निग्धान्यन्यानि च तथा रसकं पानकं तथा । आहारेऽधिष्ठिताः प्राणाः प्राणे योग्याः प्रतिष्ठिताः ॥ १००॥
One should also consume unctuous foods, nourishing liquids, and sherbets. Life depends on nourishment, and proper exercise relies on vitality.
english translation
snigdhAnyanyAni ca tathA rasakaM pAnakaM tathA । AhAre'dhiSThitAH prANAH prANe yogyAH pratiSThitAH ॥ 100॥
