देहल्यां यमदण्डस्तु शूलं तस्योपरि स्थितम् । द्वारपालौ स्थितौ चौभौ नियतिर्मृत्युरेव च ॥ ८९॥

In the doorway, Yama's danda (staff) was placed, with a trident atop it. Both the doorkeepers stood there, one being Yama, the lord of death, and the other being the controller of destiny.

english translation

dehalyAM yamadaNDastu zUlaM tasyopari sthitam । dvArapAlau sthitau caubhau niyatirmRtyureva ca ॥ 89॥
