पृष्ठवास्तुनि कुर्वीत बलिं सर्वात्मभूतये । पितृभ्यो बलिशेषं तु सर्वं दक्षिणतो हरेत् ॥ ९१ ॥

In the upper story let him offer a Bali to Sarvatmabhuti; but let him throw what remains (from these offerings) in a southerly direction for the manes.

english translation

pRSThavAstuni kurvIta baliM sarvAtmabhUtaye | pitRbhyo balizeSaM tu sarvaM dakSiNato haret || 91 ||

शूनां च पतितानां च श्वपचां पापरोगिणाम् । वयसानां कृमीणां च शनकैर्निर्वपेद् भुवि ॥ ९२ ॥

Let him gently place on the ground (some food) for dogs, outcasts, Kandalas (Svapak), those afflicted with diseases that are punishments of former sins, crows, and insects.

english translation

zUnAM ca patitAnAM ca zvapacAM pAparogiNAm | vayasAnAM kRmINAM ca zanakairnirvaped bhuvi || 92 ||

एवं यः सर्वभूतानि ब्राह्मणो नित्यमर्चति । स गच्छति परं स्थानं तेजोमूर्तिः पथार्जुना ॥ ९३ ॥

That Brahmana who thus daily honours all beings, goes, endowed with a resplendent body, by a straight road to the highest dwelling-place (i.e. Brahman).

english translation

evaM yaH sarvabhUtAni brAhmaNo nityamarcati | sa gacchati paraM sthAnaM tejomUrtiH pathArjunA || 93 ||

कृत्वैतद् बलिकर्मैवमतिथिं पूर्वमाशयेत् । भिक्षां च भिक्षवे दद्याद् विधिवद् ब्रह्मचारिणे ॥ ९४ ॥

Having performed this Bali offering, he shall first feed his guest and, according to the rule, give alms to an ascetic (and) to a student.

english translation

kRtvaitad balikarmaivamatithiM pUrvamAzayet | bhikSAM ca bhikSave dadyAd vidhivad brahmacAriNe || 94 ||

यत् पुण्यफलमाप्नोति गां दत्त्वा विधिवद् गुरोः । तत् पुण्यफलमाप्नोति भिक्षां दत्त्वा द्विजो गृही ॥ ९५ ॥

A twice-born householder gains, by giving alms, the same reward for his meritorious act which (a student) obtains for presenting, in accordance with the rule, a cow to his teacher.

english translation

yat puNyaphalamApnoti gAM dattvA vidhivad guroH | tat puNyaphalamApnoti bhikSAM dattvA dvijo gRhI || 95 ||
