यद् यद् रोचेत विप्रेभ्यस्तत् तद् दद्यादमत्सरः । ब्रह्मोद्याश्च कथाः कुर्यात् पितॄणामेतदीप्सितम् ॥ २३१ ॥

sanskrit

Whatever may please the Brahmanas, let him give without grudging it; let him give riddles from the Veda, for that is agreeable to the manes.

english translation

yad yad roceta viprebhyastat tad dadyAdamatsaraH । brahmodyAzca kathAH kuryAt pitRRNAmetadIpsitam ॥ 231 ॥
