अघं स केवलं भुङ्क्ते यः पचत्यात्मकारणात् । यज्ञशिष्टाशनं ह्येतत् सतामन्नं विधीयते ॥ ११८ ॥

He who prepares food for himself (alone), eats nothing but sin; for it is ordained that the food which remains after (the performance of) the sacrifices shall be the meal of virtuous men.

english translation

aghaM sa kevalaM bhuGkte yaH pacatyAtmakAraNAt | yajJaziSTAzanaM hyetat satAmannaM vidhIyate || 118 ||
