समेत्य तु महाबाहुः शल्यः पाण्डुसुतैस तदा पाद्यम अर्घ्यं च गां चैव परत्यगृह्णाद यथाविधि ।। ५-८-१६ ।।
‘The mighty-armed king, having met them, accepted, as was customary, the water for washing his feet and the traditional gifts of honour, including a cow.’ ।। 5-8-16 ।।
‘And the king of the Madras, that mighty slayer of foes, first inquired after their welfare. Then, filled with great joy, he affectionately embraced Yudhishthira.’ ।। 5-8-17 ।।
तथा भीमार्जुनौ हृष्टौ सवस्रीयौ च यमाव उभौ आसने चॊपविष्टस तु शल्यः पार्थम उवाच ह ।। ५-८-१८ ।।
‘Likewise, Bhima and Arjuna, together with the twin sons of his sister, Yudhishthira’s cousins, sat there, all filled with delight. And when Shalya too had taken his seat, he addressed Partha — Yudhishthira — and spoke these words:’ ।। 5-8-18 ।।
कुशलं राजशार्दूल कच चित ते कुरुनन्दन अरण्यवासाद दिष्ट्यासि विमुक्तॊ जयतां वर ।। ५-८-१९ ।।
‘O best of victors, how fortunate it is that you have endured and completed the long term of your dwelling in the wilderness, O king, O lord of monarchs!’ ।। 5-8-19 ।।
