समाकुला मही राजन कुरुपाण्डवकारणात तदा समभवत कृत्स्ना संप्रयाणे महीक्षिताम ॥ ५-५-१६ ॥
‘At that time, O King, the entire land was thronged with monarchs, each marching to espouse the cause of either the Kurus or the Pandavas.’ ॥ 5-5-16 ॥

‘The land resounded with military bands of the fourfold forces, and from every direction the troops poured in. Even the goddess Earth, along with her mountains and forests, seemed to tremble beneath their tread.’ ॥ 5-5-17 ॥

balAni teSAM vIrANAma Agacchanti tatasa tataH cAlayantIva gAM devIM sa parvata vanAma imAma ॥ 5-5-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परज्ञा वयॊवृद्धं पाञ्चाल्यः सवपुरॊहितम कुरुभ्यः परेषयाम आस युधिष्ठिर मते तदा ॥ ५-५-१८ ॥
‘The king of the Panchalas, having taken counsel with Yudhishthira, dispatched his own venerable priest—aged in both years and wisdom—to the Kurus.’ ॥ 5-5-18 ॥
