[व] ततः सत्कृत्य वार्ष्णेयं विराटः पृथिवीपतिः गृहान परस्थापयाम आस सगणं सह बान्धवम ॥ ५-५-११ ॥
‘Vaisampayana said: Then King Virata, having respectfully honoured Krishna, sent him on his way along with his followers and kinsmen.’ ॥ 5-5-11 ॥
english translation
दवारकां तु गते कृष्णे युधिष्ठिरपुरॊगमाः चक्रुः सांग्रामिकं सर्वं विराटश च महीपतिः ॥ ५-५-१२ ॥
‘After Krishna departed for Dvārakā, Yudhishthira and his companions, together with King Virata, began preparations for war.’ ॥ 5-5-12 ॥

ततः संप्रेषयाम आस विराटः सह बान्धवैः सर्वेषां भूमिपालानां दरुवपश च महीपतिः ॥ ५-५-१३ ॥
‘Virata and his relatives dispatched messengers to all the monarchs, and King Drupada did the same.’ ॥ 5-5-13 ॥

वचनात कुरु सिंहानां मत्स्यपाञ्चालयॊश च ते समाजग्मुर महीपालाः संप्रहृष्टा महाबलाः ॥ ५-५-१४ ॥
‘Responding to the summons of these lions of the Kuru race, as well as the two kings of the Matsyas and the Panchalas, many mighty lords of the earth, endowed with great strength, arrived at the place with cheerful hearts.’ ॥ 5-5-14 ॥

तच छरुत्वा पाण्डुपुत्राणां समागच्छन महद बलम धृतराष्ट्र सुतश चापि समानिन्ये महीपतीन ॥ ५-५-१५ ॥
‘And when the sons of Dhritarashtra learned that the Pandavas had assembled a mighty army, they too gathered together numerous rulers of the earth.’ ॥ 5-5-15 ॥
