अहं दुर्यॊधनं हन्ता कर्णं हन्ता धनंजयः शकुनिं चाक्षकितवं सहदेवॊ हनिष्यति ॥ २-६८-२६ ॥
'I will slay Duryodhana, Dhananjaya will slay Karna, and Sahadeva will slay that gambler, Shakuni.' ॥ 2-68-26 ॥
english translation
इदं च भूयॊ वक्ष्यामि सभामध्ये बृहद वचः सत्यं देवाः करिष्यन्ति यन नॊ युद्धं भविष्यति ॥ २-६८-२७ ॥
'I declare once again in this assembly, these bold words which the gods will surely make true: 'there will be a war.'' ॥ 2-68-27 ॥
english translation
सुयॊधनम इमं पापं हन्तास्मि गदया युधि शिरः पादेन चास्याहम अधिष्ठास्यामि भूतले ॥ २-६८-२८ ॥
'If we ever engage in battle with the Kurus, I will slay this wretched Duryodhana with my mace and, after bringing him to the ground, place my foot upon his head.' ॥ 2-68-28 ॥

वाक्यशूरस्य चैवास्य परुषस्य दुरात्मनः दुःशासनस्य रुधिरं पातास्मि मृगराड इव ॥ २-६८-२९ ॥
'As for this other vile man, Dussasana, whose words are filled with audacity, I will drink his blood like a lion.' ॥ 2-68-29 ॥

अर्जुन उवाच नैव वाचा वयवसितं भीम विज्ञायते सताम इतश चतुर्दशे वर्षे दरष्टारॊ यद भविष्यति ॥ २-६८-३० ॥
'And Arjuna said, 'O Bhima, the resolutions of noble men cannot be judged by words alone. From today, the outcome will reveal itself in the fourteenth year.'' ॥ 2-68-30 ॥
