[कर्ण] या नः शरुता मनुष्येषु सत्रियॊ रूपेण संमताः तासाम एतादृशं कर्म न कस्यां चन शुश्रुमः ॥ २-६४-१ ॥

'Karna said, "We have never heard of such an act performed by any woman renowned for her beauty in this world."' ॥ 2-64-1 ॥

[karNa] yA naH zarutA manuSyeSu satriyò rUpeNa saMmatAH tAsAma etAdRzaM karma na kasyAM cana zuzrumaH ॥ 2-64-1 ॥

'When the sons of both Pandu and Dhritarashtra were consumed by wrath, Draupadi became their savior.' ॥ 2-64-2 ॥

'Indeed, the princess of Panchala, like a boat to the Pandavas sinking in a vast ocean of distress, has brought them safely to the shore.' ॥ 2-64-3 ॥

'Vaishampayana continued: Hearing Karna's taunt in the midst of the Kurus—that the sons of Pandu were saved by their wife—Bhimasena, seething with anger and deep anguish, spoke to Arjuna:' ॥ 2-64-4 ॥

'O Dhananjaya, the sage Devala has taught that three lights reside within every person: offspring, deeds, and learning, for it is through these three that creation itself has sprung.' ॥ 2-64-5 ॥
