'After their quarrel, they appointed Prahlada as the arbitrator to decide between them. They asked him, 'Which of us is superior? Please answer truthfully and do not speak falsely.'' ।। 2-61-61 ।।
यदि वै वक्ष्यसि मृषा परह्लादाथ न वक्ष्यसि शतधा ते शिरॊ वज्री वज्रेण परहरिष्यति ।। २-६१-६३ ।।
'If you answer falsely or fail to respond at all, then the wielder of the thunderbolt shall split your head into a hundred pieces with his mighty bolt.' ।। 2-61-63 ।।
'Thus confronted by Sudhanwan and trembling like a leaf of the sacred fig tree, the Daitya Prahlada went to the mighty sage Kashyapa for counsel.' ।। 2-61-64 ।।
'Prahlada said: "O illustrious and exalted sage, you are fully versed in the rules of morality that guide the gods, the Asuras, and the Brahmanas alike. However, a difficult situation regarding duty has arisen here."' ।। 2-61-65 ।।
