कच चिद अस्त्राणि सर्वाणि बरह्मदण्डश च ते ऽनघ विषयॊगाश च ते सर्वे विदिताः शत्रुनाशनाः ।। २-५-१११ ।।

sanskrit

'O virtuous one, are you familiar with all mystical incantations and the secrets of poisons that are fatal to all enemies?' ।। 2-5-111 ।।

english translation

kaca cida astrANi sarvANi barahmadaNDaza ca te 'nagha viSayògAza ca te sarve viditAH zatrunAzanAH || 2-5-111 ||

hk transliteration

कच चिद अग्निभयाच चैव सर्पव्याल भयात तथा रॊगरक्षॊभयाच चैव राष्ट्रं सवं परिरक्षसि ।। २-५-११२ ।।

sanskrit

'Do you ensure the safety of your kingdom from the threats posed by fire, snakes, other deadly creatures, diseases, and demonic forces?' ।। 2-5-112 ।।

english translation

kaca cida agnibhayAca caiva sarpavyAla bhayAta tathA rògarakSòbhayAca caiva rASTraM savaM parirakSasi || 2-5-112 ||

hk transliteration

कच चिद अन्धांश च मूकांश च पङ्गून वयङ्गान अबान्धवान पितेव पासि धर्मज्ञ तथा परव्रजितान अपि ।। २-५-११३ ।।

sanskrit

'Given your thorough understanding of every duty, do you, like a compassionate father, support the blind, the mute, the crippled, the disfigured, the destitute, and wandering ascetics?' ।। 2-5-113 ।।

english translation

kaca cida andhAMza ca mUkAMza ca paGgUna vayaGgAna abAndhavAna piteva pAsi dharmajJa tathA paravrajitAna api || 2-5-113 ||

hk transliteration

[व] एताः कुरूणाम ऋषभॊ महात्मा; शरुत्वा गिरॊ बराह्मणसत्तमस्य परणम्य पादाव अभिवाद्य हृष्टॊ; राजाब्रवीन नारदं देवरूपम ।। २-५-११४ ।।

sanskrit

'These are the words of the virtuous king, Yudhishthira, the chief of the Kurus. Having listened to the discourse of the illustrious Brahmana, Narada, he joyfully bowed down and respectfully greeted him, saying:' ।। 2-5-114 ।।

english translation

[va] etAH kurUNAma RSabhò mahAtmA; zarutvA girò barAhmaNasattamasya paraNamya pAdAva abhivAdya hRSTò; rAjAbravIna nAradaM devarUpama || 2-5-114 ||

hk transliteration

एवं करिष्यामि यथा तवयॊक्तं; परज्ञा हि मे भूय एवाभिवृद्धा उक्त्वा तथा चैव चकार राजा; लेभे महीं सागरमेखलां च ।। २-५-११५ ।।

sanskrit

'Pleased with all he heard, the monarch addressed Narada, whose form was celestial, saying, "I shall heed your counsel, for your wisdom has enriched my understanding!" With these words, the king followed Narada's guidance, eventually acquiring dominion over the entire Earth, encompassed by its girdle of seas.' ।। 2-5-115 ।।

evaM kariSyAmi yathA tavayòktaM; parajJA hi me bhUya evAbhivRddhA uktvA tathA caiva cakAra rAjA; lebhe mahIM sAgaramekhalAM ca || 2-5-115 ||
