सॊ ऽभिगम्य महात्मानं भराता भरातरम अग्रजम मूर्ध्ना परणम्य चरणाव इदं वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ २-४५-५१ ॥
'And Vidura approaching his illustrious eldest brother and bowing down unto his feet, said these words:' ॥ 2-45-51 ॥

नाभिनन्दामि ते राजन वयवसायम इमं परभॊ पुत्रैर भेदॊ यथा न सयाद दयूतहेतॊस तथा कुरु ॥ २-४५-५२ ॥
'O exalted king, I do not approve of this resolution you have made. It is essential, O king, that you act in a way that prevents any dispute among your children arising from this gambling match.' ॥ 2-45-52 ॥
english translation
[धृ] कषत्तः पुत्रेषु पुत्रैर मे कलहॊ न भविष्यति दिवि देवाः परसादं नः करिष्यन्ति न संशयः ॥ २-४५-५३ ॥
'Dhritarashtra replied, 'O Kshatta, if the gods are merciful, no dispute will arise among my sons. The gods will surely grant us their favor in heaven, without any doubt.'' ॥ 2-45-53 ॥

अशुभं वा शुभं वापिहितं वा यदि वाहितम परवर्ततां सुहृद दयूतं दिष्टम एतन न संशयः ॥ २-४५-५४ ॥
'Therefore, regardless of whether it brings benefit or harm, let this friendly dice game proceed.' ॥ 2-45-54 ॥

मयि संनिहिते चैव भीष्मे च भरतर्षभे अनयॊ दैवविहितॊ न कथं चिद भविष्यति ॥ २-४५-५५ ॥
'O son of the Bharata lineage, with myself, Drona, and Bhishma present, nothing ill that Fate might have decreed is likely to occur.' ॥ 2-45-55 ॥
