तेन कार्मुकमुख्येन बाहुवीर्येण चात्मनः कृता वशे महीपालास तत्र का परिदेवना ।। २-४४-६ ।।

sanskrit

'With this unique bow and the strength of his own arms, he has brought all the kings of the world under his control. What is there to make thee sorry for this?' ।। 2-44-6 ।।

english translation

tena kArmukamukhyena bAhuvIryeNa cAtmanaH kRtA vaze mahIpAlAsa tatra kA paridevanA || 2-44-6 ||

hk transliteration

अग्निदाहान मयं चापि मॊक्षयित्वा सदानवम सभां तां कारयाम आस सव्यसाची परंतपः ।। २-४४-७ ।।

sanskrit

'Having rescued the Asura Maya from the conflagration, Arjuna, the slayer of foes, skillfully employed both his hands to have Maya construct that assembly hall.' ।। 2-44-7 ।।

english translation

agnidAhAna mayaM cApi mòkSayitvA sadAnavama sabhAM tAM kArayAma Asa savyasAcI paraMtapaH || 2-44-7 ||

hk transliteration

तेन चैव मयेनॊक्ताः किं करा नाम राक्षसाः वहन्ति तां सभां भीमास तत्र का परिदेवना ।। २-४४-८ ।।

sanskrit

'And it is also because the fearsome Rakshasas called Kinkaras, commanded by Maya, supported that assembly hall. What is there to be sorry about?' ।। 2-44-8 ।।

english translation

tena caiva mayenòktAH kiM karA nAma rAkSasAH vahanti tAM sabhAM bhImAsa tatra kA paridevanA || 2-44-8 ||

hk transliteration

यच चासहायतां राजन्न उक्तवान असि भारत तन मिथ्या भरातरॊ हीमे सहायास ते महारथाः ।। २-४४-९ ।।

sanskrit

'And O king, O Bharata, what you said about being without allies is false. These brothers, these great warriors, are your allies.' ।। 2-44-9 ।।

english translation

yaca cAsahAyatAM rAjanna uktavAna asi bhArata tana mithyA bharAtarò hIme sahAyAsa te mahArathAH || 2-44-9 ||

hk transliteration

दरॊणस तव महेष्वासः सह पुत्रेण धीमता सूतपुत्रश च राधेयॊ गौतमश च महारथः ।। २-४४-१० ।।

sanskrit

'Drona, the great archer, along with his wise son, Ashvatthama; the son of a charioteer, Karna; and the great warrior Gautama (Kripa)—these are your allies.' ।। 2-44-10 ।।

english translation

daròNasa tava maheSvAsaH saha putreNa dhImatA sUtaputraza ca rAdheyò gautamaza ca mahArathaH || 2-44-10 ||
