'Then Bhishma, addressing King Yudhishthira the just, said, "O Bharata, let the Arghya (offering of respect) be given to each of the kings according to their due."' ।। 2-33-22 ।।
आचार्यम ऋत्विजं चैव संयुक्तं च युधिष्ठिर सनातकं च परियं चाहुः षड अर्घ्यार्हान नृपं तथा ।। २-३३-२३ ।।
'Listen, O Yudhishthira, it has been said that the six who deserve Arghya are the preceptor, the sacrificial priest, the relative, the Snataka, the friend, and the king.' ।। 2-33-23 ।।
'The wise have stated that anyone who resides with one for a full year deserves to be honored with Arghya. These kings, having stayed with us for a considerable time, are therefore worthy of such respect.' ।। 2-33-24 ।।
'Therefore, O king, let Arghyas be procured to be offered unto each of them. And let an Arghya be presented first of all unto him among those present who is the foremost.' ।। 2-33-25 ।।
