[व] नकुलस्य तु वक्ष्यामि कर्माणि विजयं तथा वासुदेव जिताम आशां यथासौ वयजयत परभुः ॥ २-२९-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "I shall now recount the deeds and victories of Nakula, detailing how the exalted hero conquered the region previously subdued by Vasudeva."' ॥ 2-29-1 ॥

निर्याय खाण्डव परस्थात परतीचीम अभितॊ दिशम उद्दिश्य मतिमान परायान महत्या सेनया सह ॥ २-२९-२ ॥
'The intelligent Nakula, accompanied by a vast army, departed from Khandavaprastha and advanced westward.' ॥ 2-29-2 ॥

सिंहनादेन महता यॊधानां गर्जितेन च रथनेमि निनादैश च कम्पयन वसुधाम इमाम ॥ २-२९-३ ॥
'The earth trembled under the roar of his warriors and the thunderous clatter of chariot wheels.' ॥ 2-29-3 ॥

ततॊ बहुधनं रम्यं गवाश्वधनधान्यवत कार्तिकेयस्य दयितं रॊहीतकम उपाद्रवत ॥ २-२९-४ ॥
'The hero first attacked the mountainous region of Rohitaka, which was beloved by Kartikeya and renowned for its prosperity, cattle, and abundant wealth.' ॥ 2-29-4 ॥

तत्र युद्धं महद वृत्तं शूरैर मत्तमयूरकैः मरु भूमिं च कार्त्स्न्येन तथैव बहु धान्यकम ॥ २-२९-५ ॥
'The encounter with the Mattamyurakas of that land was fierce. The illustrious Nakula then subdued the entire desert region.' ॥ 2-29-5 ॥
