नव राष्ट्रं विनिर्जित्य कुन्तिभॊजम उपाद्रवत परीतिपूर्वं च तस्यासौ परतिजग्राह शासनम ॥ २-२८-६ ॥
'And subjugating next the country called Navarashtra, the hero marched against Kuntibhoja, who with great willingness accepted the sway of the conquering hero.' ॥ 2-28-6 ॥

nava rASTraM vinirjitya kuntibhòjama upAdravata parItipUrvaM ca tasyAsau paratijagrAha zAsanama ॥ 2-28-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततश चर्मण्वती कूले जम्भकस्यात्मजं नृपम ददर्श वासुदेवेन शेषितं पूर्ववैरिणा ॥ २-२८-७ ॥
'And marching to the banks of the Charmanvati, the Kuru warrior encountered the son of King Jambhaka, who had previously been defeated by Vasudeva due to old enmities.' ॥ 2-28-7 ॥

tataza carmaNvatI kUle jambhakasyAtmajaM nRpama dadarza vAsudevena zeSitaM pUrvavairiNA ॥ 2-28-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचक्रे तत्र स संग्रामं सह भॊजेन भारत स तम आजौ विनिर्जित्य दक्षिणाभिमुखॊ ययौ ॥ २-२८-८ ॥
'O Bharata, the son of Jamvaka engaged in battle with Sahadeva. After defeating the prince, Sahadeva proceeded southwards.' ॥ 2-28-8 ॥

'The mighty warrior then vanquished the Sekas and others, exacting tributes, various gems, and wealth from them. Allying himself with the vanquished tribes, the prince then marched towards the lands along the banks of the Narmada.' ॥ 2-28-9 ॥

karAMsa tebhya upAdAya ratnAni vividhAni ca tatasa taira eva sahitò narmadAma abhitò yayau ॥ 2-28-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविन्दानुविन्दाव आवन्त्यौ सैन्येन महता वृतौ जिगाय समरे वीराव आश्विनेयः परतापवान ॥ २-२८-१० ॥
'Defeating the two heroic kings of Avanti, Vinda and Anuvinda, who were supported by a mighty host, the powerful son of the twin gods exacted a great amount of wealth from them.' ॥ 2-28-10 ॥
