भरामयित्वा शतगुणं भुजाभ्यां भरतर्षभ बभञ्ज पृष्ठे संक्षिप्य निष्पिष्य विननाद च ॥ २-२२-६ ॥
'O bull of the Bharata race, after spinning him in the air a hundred times, Bhima pressed his knee against Jarasandha's spine and split his body in two.' ॥ 2-22-6 ॥

तस्य निष्पिष्यमाणस्य पाण्डवस्य च गर्जतः अभवत तुमुलॊ नादः सर्वप्राणि भयंकरः ॥ २-२२-७ ॥
'After killing him this way, the mighty Vrikodara let out a fearsome roar. The Pandava's roar, blending with the death cry of Jarasandha as he was being crushed on Bhima's knee, created a tumultuous uproar that struck fear into the heart of every creature.' ॥ 2-22-7 ॥

वित्रेसुर मागधाः सर्वे सत्रीणां गर्भाश च सुस्रुवुः भीमसेनस्य नादेन जरासंधस्य चैव ह ॥ २-२२-८ ॥
'All the Magadhas trembled, and the fetuses of women were miscarried, Due to the roar of Bhimasena and indeed of Jarasandha.' ॥ 2-22-8 ॥

किं नु सविद धिमवान भिन्नः किं नु सविद दीर्यते मही इति सम मागधा जज्ञुर भीमसेनस्य निस्वनात ॥ २-२२-९ ॥
'Hearing those roars, the people of Magadha thought either the Himavat was collapsing or the earth was splitting apart.' ॥ 2-22-9 ॥

ततॊ राजकुलद्वारि परसुप्तम इव तं नृपम रात्रौ परासुम उत्सृज्य निश्चक्रमुर अरिंदमाः ॥ २-२२-१० ॥
'Leaving the lifeless body of the king at the palace gate where he lay peacefully, like one asleep, they departed from the city.' ॥ 2-22-10 ॥
