अथॊपविविशुः सर्वे तरयस ते पुरुषर्षभाः संप्रदीप्तास तरयॊ लक्ष्म्या महाध्वर इवाग्नयः ॥ २-१९-३६ ॥
'The mighty warriors sat down, shining like the three principal priests of a great sacrifice.' ॥ 2-19-36 ॥
english translation
तान उवाच जरासंधः सत्यसंधॊ नराधिपः विगर्हमाणः कौरव्य वेषग्रहणकारणात ॥ २-१९-३७ ॥
'Jarasandha, the king steadfast in truth, then addressed them with disdain, due to his dislike for their assumption of the Brahmana disguise.' ॥ 2-19-37 ॥
english translation
न सनातक वरता विप्रा बहिर माल्यानुलेपनाः भवन्तीति नृलॊके ऽसमिन विदितं मम सर्वशः ॥ २-१९-३८ ॥
'I am well aware that Brahmanas observing the Snataka vow do not adorn themselves with garlands and fragrant paste out of season anywhere in the world.' ॥ 2-19-38 ॥
english translation
ते यूयं पुष्पवन्तश च भुजैर जयाघात लक्षणैः बिभ्रतः कषात्रम ओजॊ च बराह्मण्यं परतिजानथ ॥ २-१९-३९ ॥
'Who are you then, adorned with flowers, hands marked by bowstrings?' ॥ 2-19-39 ॥
english translation
एवं विराग वसना बहिर माल्यानुलेपनाः सत्यं वदत के यूयं सत्यं राजसु शॊभते ॥ २-१९-४० ॥
'Dressed in colored robes and adorned out of season with flowers and paste, you imply that you are Brahmins, despite possessing the vigor of Kshatriyas.' ॥ 2-19-40 ॥
