नार्हामि विषये राज्ञॊ वसन्ती पुत्रगृद्धिनः बालं पुत्रम उपादातुं मेघलेखेव भास्करम ॥ २-१६-४६ ॥
'I dwell within the dominion of a king who fervently desires an heir. Therefore, it is not appropriate for me to harm the infant child of such an illustrious and virtuous monarch.' ॥ 2-16-46 ॥
english translation
सा कृत्वा मानुषं रूपम उवाच मनुजाधिपम बृहद्रथसुतस ते ऽयं मद्दत्तः परतिगृह्यताम ॥ २-१६-४७ ॥
'Having assumed a human form, she said to the king of men: 'This is the son of Brihadratha, given by me; please accept him.' ॥ 2-16-47 ॥
english translation
तव पत्नी दवये जातॊ दविजातिवरशासनात धात्री जनपरित्यक्तॊ ममायं परिरक्षितः ॥ २-१६-४८ ॥
'I have given him to you. Take him. By the command of the great Brahmana, he has been born to both your wives. Cast away by the midwives, he has been protected by me!' ॥ 2-16-48 ॥
english translation
ततस ते भरतश्रेष्ठ काशिराजसुते शुभे तं बालम अभिपत्याशु परस्नवैर अभिषिञ्चताम ॥ २-१६-४९ ॥
'Krishna continued, "O foremost of the Bharata lineage, the graceful daughters of the King of Kashi, upon receiving the child, promptly nourished it with their milk.' ॥ 2-16-49 ॥

ततः स राजा संहृष्टः सर्वं तद उपलभ्य च अपृच्छन नवहेमाभां राक्षसीं ताम अराक्षसीम ॥ २-१६-५० ॥
'Then the king, filled with joy, having understood everything, approached that female demon, who had transformed from her demoniac form into a celestial form, and asked her about her divine appearance.' ॥ 2-16-50 ॥
