हित्वा करान यौवनाश्वः पालनाच च भगीरथः कार्तवीर्यस तपॊयॊगाद बलात तु भरतॊ विभुः ऋद्ध्या मरुत्तस तान पञ्च सम्राज इति शुश्रुमः ॥ २-१४-११ ॥
'It has been heard that in the Krita Age, Yauvanaswin subdued all, Bhagiratha abolished all taxes and treated his subjects kindly, Kartavirya excelled through his ascetic energy, Lord Bharata by his strength and valor, and Maruta through his prosperity—all these five became emperors.' ॥ 2-14-11 ॥
