ऐलस्येक्ष्वाकु वंशस्य परकृतिं परिचक्षते राजानः शरेणि बद्धाश च ततॊ ऽनये कषत्रिया भुवि ॥ २-१३-४ ॥
'The numerous royal lines and other ordinary Kshatriyas all claim descent from Aila and Ikshvaku. The descendants of Aila, O king, as well as the kings of Ikshvaku's race, are each divided into a hundred separate dynasties, know this, O bull of the Bharata race.' ॥ 2-13-4 ॥
