स कालं कं चिद आश्वस्य विश्वकर्मा परचिन्त्य च सभां परचक्रमे कर्तुं पाण्डवानां महात्मनाम ॥ २-१-१६ ॥
'Contemplating for some time, Vishwakarma, the divine architect, then set out to construct the hall for the great-souled Pandavas.' ॥ 2-1-16 ॥
english translation
sa kAlaM kaM cida Azvasya vizvakarmA paracintya ca sabhAM paracakrame kartuM pANDavAnAM mahAtmanAma ॥ 2-1-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभिप्रायेण पार्थानां कृष्णस्य च महात्मनः पुण्ये ऽहनि महातेजाः कृतकौतुक मङ्गलः ॥ २-१-१७ ॥
'By the desires of both Krishna and the sons of Pritha, the illustrious Danava, possessing great prowess, commenced the propitiatory rites for laying the foundation on an auspicious day.' ॥ 2-1-17 ॥

abhiprAyeNa pArthAnAM kRSNasya ca mahAtmanaH puNye 'hani mahAtejAH kRtakautuka maGgalaH ॥ 2-1-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतर्पयित्वा दविजश्रेष्ठान पायसेन सहस्रशः धनं बहुविधं दत्त्वा तेभ्य एव च वीर्यवान ॥ २-१-१८ ॥
'After satisfying the foremost Brahmins with thousands of offerings of rice pudding and bestowing upon them various kinds of wealth, the mighty Maya also gave them an abundance of his own valor.' ॥ 2-1-18 ॥

tarpayitvA davijazreSThAna pAyasena sahasrazaH dhanaM bahuvidhaM dattvA tebhya eva ca vIryavAna ॥ 2-1-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वर्तुगुणसंपन्नां दिव्यरूपां मनॊरमाम दश किष्कु सहस्रां तां मापयाम आस सर्वतः ॥ २-१-१९ ॥
'He then measured a heavenly, charming city called Dashakishka, endowed with all virtues, from all sides.' ॥ 2-1-19 ॥
