'O Maya, construct a palace where we can witness a fusion of divine, demonic, and human designs.' ॥ 2-1-11 ॥

परतिगृह्य तु तद वाक्यं संप्रहृष्टॊ मयस तदा विमानप्रतिमां चक्रे पाण्डवस्य सभां मुदा ॥ २-१-१२ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "Upon hearing those words, Maya was filled with great joy. Without delay, he constructed a magnificent palace for the son of Pandu, resembling the celestial abodes."' ॥ 2-1-12 ॥

ततः कृष्णश च पार्थश च धर्मराजे युधिष्ठिरे सर्वम एतद यथावेद्य दर्शयाम आसतुर मयम ॥ २-१-१३ ॥
'Then Krishna and Partha (Arjuna), having described everything to the righteous king Yudhishthira, introduced Maya to him.' ॥ 2-1-13 ॥

तस्मै युधिष्ठिरः पूजां यथार्हम अकरॊत तदा स तु तां परतिजग्राह मयः सत्कृत्य सत्कृतः ॥ २-१-१४ ॥
'Yudhishthira then honored Maya with due reverence as was appropriate, and Maya, feeling honored, accepted the respect graciously.' ॥ 2-1-14 ॥

स पूर्वदेव चरितं तत्र तत्र विशां पते कथयाम आस दैतेयः पाण्डुपुत्रेषु भारत ॥ २-१-१५ ॥
'O monarch of the Bharata lineage, that noble son of Diti then narrated to the sons of Pandu the saga of the Danava Vrishaparva. After a brief rest, that eminent artist engaged himself, after much contemplation, in constructing a palace for the illustrious sons of Pandu.' ॥ 2-1-15 ॥
